Have you ever heard your boss say that? Well I did. That was the second month on my new job. By the end of my third month, my team accomplished that goal. I knew that we were going to accomplish that goal by the third week of the month. Three weeks later, all of my department and their spouses were sitting in a fine restaurant having escargot and prime rib and the boss was picking up the check.

This was no poor performing service department. It had the best reputation around. Not only did we increase the production, but we also improved the reputation. It sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, it happened and we maintained our position in the area for eight years.

Was it an accident or a stroke of luck? Before my new job, I was employed at a different dealership in the same city. This one had a good but different crew and did not have as good a reputation as the previous one mentioned but it was in the top five dealerships in the area. Well, we went from six technicians to fourteen technicians in four years.

With another dealer, the business increased enough to sell the business for a nice sum and the dealer retired. When introducing the service department to the new owner, the  boss said "This is the person who, almost single handedly, made the service department what it is today" . That sure was nice to hear.

We had a factory representative come in just before the holidays. That was when they were off between Christmas and New Years and said " I like coming here when it's the last stop before the holidays or vacation because you never have any problems or upset customers for me".

That was three dealerships tin a row that saw the results of the system. It not only makes money but  a happy customer, a happy technician, a happy factory, a happy factory representative and a real happy DEALER. It also made us in the top 10 dealerships in the country with one francise and in the top 5% with another francise (which was Chevrolet by the way).
