| It's nice to be able to observe situations from another person's point of view. "The grass is always greener" and "Murphy's law" are both a challenge. You must know where you're going by using the experience from where you came. By having a goal and a map to get there, the chances of success will be easier. Now that I have retired, it is time to reflect on my career. After finding the secrets of making it easier and more effective, I feel that others can benefit. Below is a path that I took.

Worked in a dealership after high school
Went to college and majored in Chemical Engineering
Worked part time through college and received a Chemical Engineering degree
Stayed with the dealership after college after a while became an
"A" technician and became general certified.
Went to work for a larger dealer.
Was asked to return to previous dealership as assistant service manager
Was asked to be Service Manager of another dealership
Was asked to return to a previous dealer as Service Manager and after 4 years was asked back as a Service Manager of the original dealership
Was asked to be Service Director of a new dealership
Was asked back to be Service Director of a previous Dealership and after 4 years, the dealership was sold and the dealer retired
And I retired.
A previous dealer asked to be Service Manager of a new dealership.
Now have retired again.
